Carlos Sainz secured his first podium finish with his new team, Williams, at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, a day described as memorable for the team.
Sainz, who had lost his seat at Ferrari to Lewis Hamilton, qualified second behind race winner Max Verstappen.
While Hamilton finished eighth, Sainz's third-place finish marked Williams' second podium since 2017.
The Spaniard, who had a mixed start to the season with his new team, was elated with the result, stating he 'cannot describe how happy' he was and that the podium was 'even better than my first ever podium'.
He said the podium underlines the progress of the James Vowles team and that he is glad his bad luck has led to this nice moment.
Verstappen's win in Baku has also put him back in the drivers' championship conversation, with his team, Red Bull, showing a significant step forward with their car.
Despite this, Ferrari's Charles Leclerc believes it's too early to say Red Bull is dominating again and that it is still a very close race between McLaren and Red Bull.
