Ally McCoist has fired back at fellow talkSPORT presenter Alan Brazil over his assessment of Leeds United's chances against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
The Whites host Spurs in a Saturday lunchtime kick-off at Elland Road, with manager hoping to head into the international break on a positive winning note.
Brazil dismissed Leeds' chances of causing an upset, arguing that Tottenham should surely beat Leeds away from home, pointing to Spurs' recent victory at The Etihad as evidence of their quality.
However, McCoist was swift to defend Leeds, explaining that the Yorkshire side would present a completely different challenge to Manchester City.
The former Scotland international striker noted that whilst Tottenham wouldn't have possession and could counter-attack at City, Leeds would come flying out at them with an aggressive approach.
McCoist highlighted that Leeds were unlucky not to beat Bournemouth in their previous match and emphasised the advantage of having a full week to prepare for the match, unlike Tottenham who were away on Champions League duty on Tuesday evening.
The response from McCoist was swift and to the point, demonstrating his belief in Leeds' ability to compete at home regardless of the opposition's quality.
Leeds will be fancying their chances of what would be their best result of the season so far against a Tottenham side that has made an impressive start to life under new manager Thomas Frank.
With the passionate Elland Road atmosphere behind them, Leeds will be looking to prove Brazil wrong and secure three valuable points.
