A 'subdued' and 'emotionless' Sean 'Diddy' Combs sat silently in a Manhattan courtroom as Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced him to 50 months (four years and two months) in prison for transportation to engage in prostitution.
After the sentence was read, the rapper turned to his family in the pews and appeared to mouth the words 'I love you, I’m sorry'.
Judge Subramanian harshly scolded Combs, telling him, 'You abused these women.
You used that abuse to get your way, freakoffs and hotel nights' and that his 'serious offences' had 'irreparably harmed two women'.
Combs addressed the court for the first time since the trial began, pleading with the judge for mercy.
Growing emotional, he apologised to the victims and told his mother, 'Mom, I failed you as a son.
I’m sorry.
You taught me better.
You raised me better'.
The sentencing followed a chaotic eight-week trial that included graphic testimony and a viral video of Combs beating his ex, Cassandra Ventura, in a hotel hallway.
