After more than a decade in business, the popular Leeds city centre restaurant, Meatliquor, has announced its closure.
The restaurant, located on Bank Street, cited a significant increase in costs as the main reason for the decision.
In a post on Instagram, the team wrote, 'Cost of living up.
Cost of beef up.
Cost of everything up.' They added that they had poured everything into keeping the business open, but it had become 'cheaper to close than to stay open'.
The team extended their gratitude to their customers and, most notably, to their past and present staff who 'poured the pints, smashed the burgers and made the magic happen every single day'.
The closure marks a significant event in the local food and drink scene, and the team promised to keep followers updated on future openings and closures.
The closure of Meatliquor is one of several business closures that have been announced in recent months, a sign of the current economic challenges facing the retail and hospitality sectors.
