The highly anticipated 'The Queens 4 Legends 1 Stage' tour, which features an unprecedented gathering of music legends Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight, and Stephanie Mills, has commenced its second leg in Greensboro.
The tour, produced by the Black Promoters Collective, previously sold out arenas from May through June.
Each artist performs a 45-minute set on a rotating stage, captivating audiences with a nostalgic journey through their celebrated careers and an array of megahits.
The setlist includes iconic songs such as Khan's 'I’m Every Woman,' Knight’s 'Midnight Train to Georgia,' Mills’s 'Home,' and LaBelle’s 'Lady Marmalade.' The tour celebrates the enduring impact of these artists, whose lengthy and influential careers have earned them a dedicated, multi-generational fanbase, particularly within the Black community.
Stephanie Mills, at 68, referred to as the 'baby' of the group, reflected on originating the role of Dorothy in 'The Wiz' on Broadway 50 years ago and expressed no desire to slow down.
Similarly, Patti LaBelle, 81, conveyed her gratitude for a career that has spanned six decades.
Chaka Khan, 72, who has openly discussed her past struggles with substance abuse, stated that her greatest achievement is 'staying alive.' The tour is set to conclude on October 5 in Cleveland.
In other news, Khan is preparing to release a new album featuring unreleased music recorded with Prince, and LaBelle is launching a new syrup as part of her popular food line.
