She began taking the medication in April 2023, and it has helped her feel fuller for longer, which has also led to a change in her spending habits, as she no longer buys as much at supermarkets or on takeaways.

Cuddy said that while a recent price hike, which could see the highest dose jump from £122 to £330 per month, would have 'frightened' her as a first-time user, she believes people should look at 'price versus value.' She felt fortunate to have been an early user of the drug when it was more affordable, noting that it was 'expensive but not compared to surgery.' Before taking Mounjaro, she described herself as feeling unwell and dependent on others.
Her health has since improved, and she feels a renewed sense of optimism.
However, the potential price increase has alarmed health professionals.
