Dramatic footage captured the terrifying moment an EasyJet plane fought for stability while attempting to land at Edinburgh Airport amidst the severe gusts and downpours of Storm Amy.
The flight, arriving from London Stansted, can be seen shuddering from side to side and swaying violently in the gale-force winds as it struggled to drop to the runway.
Despite the extreme conditions, the pilots managed to successfully execute the landing, much to the relief of the passengers on board.
However, the intensity of Storm Amy caused major disruption across the region; several other flights attempting to land at the capital airport on Friday were forced to abandon their approach, circling before diverting south for safer options like Manchester.
Storm Amy continues to ravage Scotland, having already broken several weather records.
The UK has been warned to brace for continued disruption, with weather warnings for wind and rain carrying on throughout the weekend.
The storm’s highest recorded wind gust hit a whopping 96mph in Tiree, while Baltasound in Shetland provisionally recorded the lowest October pressure ever at a UK land station, hitting 947.9 hPa.
The Met Office has issued a new amber warning for damaging winds in the north of Scotland, with gusts of over 90mph expected in some areas.
