A motorcyclist has been taken to the hospital following a collision that caused significant road disruption in Leicestershire.
The incident occurred around 11:39 am on Friday, September 12, on Walton Hill, near the entrance to Donington Park in Castle Donington.
According to police, the collision involved a single motorcycle.
As a result, road closures were put in place outside the SuperBike Factory at Donington Park, impacting local bus services.
Trent Barton's skylink Nottingham and my15 services had to be diverted, missing several stops including High Street, Nags Head, and Donington Park.
A police spokesperson confirmed that the motorcyclist's injuries were 'not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.' The road closures were lifted at 2:06 pm, and traffic has since returned to normal.
Separately, a crash on the M5 near the Gloucestershire and Worcestershire border also caused long delays on Friday afternoon.
The collision involved two vehicles on the northbound side between junctions 8 and 7.
Traffic was briefly held and then released, but the crash caused additional slowdowns on the southbound side as onlookers slowed down to look at the scene.
The incidents highlight a day of significant traffic issues in the region.
