A ten-year-old boy was successfully rescued after a house fire broke out in a property in the Chester Green suburb of Derby.
Firefighters from the Nottingham Road and Kingsway stations were called to reports of the house fire on Road at 6:49 pm on Tuesday, September 23.
Upon their arrival at the scene, a spokesperson for the fire crews said that they found smoke coming from the first floor of the property.
The ten-year-old boy was rescued from the house by the fire crews.
Following the rescue, the firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to put out the fire.
After the blaze was extinguished, the fire crews ventilated the property to clear the smoke, which was coming from the first floor.
Importantly, no injuries were reported as a result of the blaze, confirming the success of the rescue and firefighting operation.
The fire crews left the scene at 7:44 pm, handing over the property to Derbyshire police to carry out further inquiries into the incident.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
The local police force will conduct an investigation to determine how the fire broke out in the property in the Derby suburb.
